The Kane County Division of Transportation prepares a budget and 5-year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) annually.
Fiscal Year 2010—December 1, 2009 thru November 30, 2010
The total FY2010 Transportation Budget is $89,239,184 - The Division of Transportation is funded by three property tax levies (i.e. County Highway, County Bridge, County Matching), two motor fuel tax funds (i.e. Motor Fuel Tax and Local Option Motor Fuel Tax), reimbursements and other sources (i.e. State, Federal, Impact Fees, Local, developers contributions, and transfers), and previous year fund balances to include the Transportation Capital Fund. It should be noted that the Division of Transportation budget is not funded through the General Fund.
The FY2010 Transportation Budget was revised to include the Sales Tax Revenue Bond funds approved by the County Board. The current budget is approximately $89 million and is 6% less than last year. The FY2010 Transportation Improvement Program is primarily a continuation of the FY2009 Program and includes the following efforts:
- Stearns Road Bridge Corridor – Phase II Eng., ROW and Construction
- Longmeadow Parkway Bridge Corridor – Phase I Eng. And Land Acquisition
- Anderson Road – Phase II Eng. And Lane Acquisition
- Orchard Road – Phase Eng. And Land Acquisition
- Various Bridge Rehabilitation/Replacement Projects
- Various Maintenance Projects
- Various Safety & Traffic Enhancement Projects
