Montgomery Road Public Meeting
KDOT recently hosted a public meeting to initiate the Preliminary
Engineering and Environmental (Phase I) Study for Montgomery Road. The corridor is approximately 3 miles long, from IL Route 25 on the west to Hill Avenue on the east. The study will take a comprehensive view of the corridor’s transportation needs and include a public involvement process to identify alternatives, impacts, and issues.
The purpose of the meeting was to inform the public about the project and to seek input on the transportation issues within the study area. Attendees were able to review exhibits, provide comments, and meet with KDOT and study team representatives.

Interchange at IL 47 and I-90 Tollway Now Open
After just one year, the Illinois Tollway has finalized construction of the new, all-electronic interchange at the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) and Illinois Route 47 in Huntley.
Working in partnership with the village of Huntley, Kane and McHenry counties and the Illinois Department of Transportation, the $61 million project includes six new ramps to provide full access to I-90 and Illinois Route 47 in all directions.
The Illinois Route 47 Interchange is part of the Tollway's 15-year, $12 billion capital program, Move Illinois: The Illinois Tollway Driving the Future and will be the first "green" interchange on the Tollway system, featuring new, environmentally-friendly construction initiatives.
The new interchange creates an opportunity for economic development along Illinois Route 47 and improve access between the Tollway and a regional north-south transportation route.
