Planning & Programming
The Planning and Programming Department is responsible for long-range transportation planning for the County roadway network and enhanced coordination of
the transit and bicycle / pedestrian systems. Staff works closely with the
Kane County Development Department to integrate transportation and land use planning.
The Department also monitors projects identified through the planning process for construction to ensure adequate funds are secured and the requirements
of the Federal and State processes are met in a timely fashion. The Department coordinates frequently with the Illinois Department of Transportation
(IDOT), the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP),
the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) and other regional transportation
