is The Seniors and Persons with Disabilities Unit?
The Seniors and Persons with Disabilities Unit was established by the Kane County State's Attorney's office. The unit specializes in the prosecution of crimes against seniors (age 60 or over) and persons with disabilities. Who is in The Seniors and Persons with Disabilities Unit? The unit is comprised of an Assistant State's Attorney and Victims' Rights advocates. These individuals are specially trained in the legal rights of seniors and persons with disabilities. Where is The Seniors and Persons with Disabilities Unit located? The Seniors and Persons with Disabilities Unit is located at 100 South Third Street, Geneva, Illinois in the Old Court House. Entrance is located in the back of the building. If you suspect that someone you know is a victim of abuse, neglect, fraud, of financial exploitation, call the Kane County State's Attorney's Office. When the unit receives your case, it will be evaluated to determine if criminal and or civil legal action is appropriate. If criminal prosecution is pursued, and advocate will work with you throughout the case. Advocates will keep you updated on the status of your case and will assist you if you are called to testify. You may also be referred to other services or agencies for civil legal
assistance and other social services that may be needed. |
