the Treasurer's Office ( · Dropping the payment off in the property tax drop box, which is available 2 Government Center in Geneva, IL. · Credit card or Echeck over the Internet. Please note there are convenience fees for both of these services. treasurer, david j. rickert, would like to remind Senior Citizens that Real Estate Tax Deferral
applications are now available through the Kane County Treasurer's
Office. This program permits qualified
senior citizens to defer all or a portion of their real estate taxes. Once completed these forms should be
returned to the Treasurer's Office on or before March ·
Be
sixty-five or older by June ·
Have a
total household income of $50,000 or less. ·
Have
lived on the property for at least three years ·
Not
owe any delinquent property taxes ·
Have
homeowners insurance. Note: If you have a mortgage, you should
also submit proof that your agreement allows you to participate in the Senior
Tax Deferral Program. The deferral is similar to a loan against
the property’s market value. Deferred
