About the Clerk - Kane County Elections
John A “Jack” Cunningham has served as the Clerk in Kane County, Illinois since December 1, 2002. Jack has been instrumental in the automation of the Clerks Office including Vital Records, Tax Extension as well as the Election Department. His emphasis in the Election Department has been educating the public with electronic voting utilizing the new technology offered in today’s environment.
From 1965 to 1973, Jack was the Commissioner of Public Property in Aurora, Illinois. Jack’s background in law since 1978 has provided a wealth of knowledge and experience assisting in all areas of responsibilities. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science, Master of Arts of Business and Public Service, a Doctorate Degree from Northern Illinois University and Doctorate Degree from Lewis College of Law.
With the changes of today’s environment, Jack has used his experience to bring Kane County to the forefront in innovative technology. Jack has brought Elections to the people through a “Votemobile” making it convenient for voters to participate in voting during their busy schedules. Jack’s background has allowed him to be sensitive to the needs of the residents while keeping within the required Statutes.
