The Permitting Department is responsible for reviewing and approving access on County highways and issuing permits. Kane County and the Division of Transportation have improved the permitting process to better serve the public. KPASS—a customized software solution utilizing "Cityview", a product of The Municipal Software Corporation—allows the Permitting Department to coordinate with several County Departments, including County Board, Development, GIS Technologies, Health, Information Technologies, and Water Resources.
