Kane County requires building permits for many types of construction including additions, finishing spaces in basements and attics, porches, decks, gazebos, pools, residing and reroofing. It is your responsibility to check with Kane County if a permit is required for your project, and if it is, apply for and obtain the required permits before starting your project. As review and approvals may take several weeks, it is recommended that you obtain any required permits before ordering materials or scheduling work.

 Remember, dumping of grass clippings or other materials in the open common areas and ponds is against the law. Please dispose of your clippings and waste in proper lawn waste bags or mulch them into your yard. If you see someone dumping in the open spaces or ponds, please report them immediately.
