AUTO THEFT TASK FORCE PROSECUTION UNIT

The goal of this unit is to combat organized, commercial auto theft in Kane County. The unit works closely with the Kane County Auto Theft Task Force. A Kane County Assistant State's Attorney is available with support staff to assist in: 1) the prosecution and investigation of these crimes; and 2) in assisting with warrants/overhears in order to better target chop shops and professional auto thieves. The grant is funded by the Illinois Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention Council with monies provided by the Insurance industry and administered by the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority.
