VICTIMS' RIGHTS UNIT

This unit is funded by grants from the Federal Crime Control Act of 1973, the Illinois Attorney General's Office, and the County of Kane. The first grant is an interagency agreement between the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority and the Federal Government administered by the State's Attorney's Office. The purpose of these funds is to provide services to victims of crime, with priority given to victims of violence, sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse. This unit assists the crime victim participating in criminal justice proceedings and requests attorney general compensation for financial losses suffered as a result of victimization. The office is open from 8:30 am. to 4:30 pm with citizen complaints taken between 9:00 am. and 3:00 pm Monday thru Friday closed on weekends and Court Holidays.
